FH5, Series 43, Preview
Two new cars and that may be all FH5 is getting. One is the 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock which will probably end up being garage filler like the other non-Viper Dodges, and the other is one of those 90s “Mustangs”. The rest will please newer players who are looking to fill holes in their garages.
More extended night. Ugh. The night’s already too long and I still don’t understand the point of it. Perhaps in FH6 they could adjust the hours of daylight according to the season. Also, those bloody garish neon lights. Ugh! (but with an exclamation mark).
A choice of opening screens is a nice late idea. I’m tempted to opt for the Horizon 4 one, but probably won’t change anything.
This looks to be the last series with any new cars because from now on we’ll be voting for one old series or another, although there will be some updates to the playlist such as expansion events with series that predate Hot Wheels or Rally Adventure. Perhaps this is the “new content” to which PGG may be somewhat mendaciously referring. I’ll be curious to see whether the Extreme E series (series 10) ever comes up because, as I’ve surmised, the end of that series in real life may have put an end to the licence in the game. I only want the remaining four (?) Extreme E vehicles back that I’m missing from my garage. No, I don’t ever drive more than the one that everyone can buy, but as unwelcome as they are, I want the lot. So there.
So, how long is this going to continue? Does voting for the content of forthcoming series suggest that FH6 may be arriving sooner? I still feel that the new game will come out in autumn this year, but it does seem to mean that FH5 will really drag, and as I did with FH4, I’ll probably stop bothering with the rest of the Festival playlist apart from the PR stunts because of their random rewards. If I bothered looking through the duplicates in my garage, I suspect I’d find quite a few more cars than the usual three. Well, in FH4 I had about five 2019 91 GT3 RSs at one stage.
Anyway, it’s about time I did today’s daily.
