FH5, Series 45, Week 2
I thought we had another faulty weekly because the light-grey Hoonigan Mustang didn’t initially trigger the event. I did Highland Climb for the Street Scene race, but with care and got a pathetic wheel spin afterwards. That took me to a spot just outside Guanajuato, where I quickly found a taco cart to smash, and the drifting after that was no problem.
I one-shotted the drift zone in the Hoonicorn while I was doing the weekly. A pitiful exhibition of drifting, but it worked. I PB’ed the speed trap the other day when I was practising, but this took me a couple of attempts in my low S2-class International Scout. One-third good SWS. One-shotted the danger sign for a lame SWS. Thanks, game.
Eventlab (1). Cordillera Lapras. I liked this as an intermediate-length scramble. Went with the Escort RS1600.
Eventlab (2) Mangrove Rallycross. Night – no. Layout – ugh. Props – good unless there were awkward jumps ahead of corners. Another pathetic SWS.
One-shotted the HW PR stunt in the Jesko (obvious choice) for one-third very good SWS.
One-shotted the RA PR stunt in the Celica GT-4, which I retuned for dirt racing. Another one-third very good SWS. This also got me the first series car, the Subaru 22B. My fourth one?
I was hearing bad stories about the Trial in the 1965 Mini. Mine was already set up for the event (probably from the previous occasion). Second row start for Lookout and a bit slow off the line, but I wasn’t surprised. This seems to be a circuit where the drivatars are oddly fast. Nonetheless, I managed to get past them and the rest of my team through the technical sections and come 2nd after a slide late in the race by another player gave me 2nd place. I was on the front row for Chihuahua, but possibly dirt tyres helped in the wet conditions and I was up to 3rd fairly quickly. Teagan was a bit of a nuisance, but me and the player ahead of me managed to pass her and then had a relatively polite battle for 1st, although I took a wider line through some corners to avoid contact. The other player kept sliding wide round the curve ahead of the hairpin and would then shove me out of the way on the hairpin instead of being patient.
I see this week is heavy on seasonal championships, hence I’m a point short of the Backstage Pass. Can’t be bothered with the seasonals any longer.
I see that we have one of the Extreme E vehicles in the Forzathon Shop, which means that the licence is still in effect. Whether we get to see Series 10 (I think) before FH6 is launched, I don’t know.
