FH5, Series 53, Week 3
Before doing the treasure hunt, I did a little test to see whether driving from Mulegé to the seaside counted. It didn’t. As I think I said on the previous occasion, you drive from Guanajuato to somewhere along the beach near Playa Azul. Another 300FPs to add to the 142,000 or so that I already have. I’m sure I only had 137K about a week ago or so.
As I probably also said the last time, the pic of the Maserati on the test track was probably another instance of #ForcedEngagement. Who uses the test track and why would they bother? (#NotInFH6)
The obvious choice for the PR stunts was the Taycan CT. I crashed into a tree when I tried to do the DS, but was unsurprised. The trick seems to be to swing to the right. The SWS was one-third very good. I one-shotted the ST for a one-third good SWS. I also did the same to the DZ. A one-third very good SWS.
It was then off to do the HW PR stunt because once again, the Eventlab tiles aren’t working. This seemed to be another job for the Taycan, but the WP model. I had to do a bit of rebuilding and retuning, but completed the task on the second attempt for a completely rubbish SWS. However, …
My next destination was Sierra Nueva for a familiar DS and the usual start from the riverbed. One-shotted and rewarded with an SWS that was two-third very good and one-third excellent. In terms of SWSs which have awarded me with credits, this is probably best I’ve ever had even though I don’t need the cash.
I finally got round to the weekly. It’s that one in the BMW X5M that starts with a Street Scene race in S1 class. Why not a dirt or – better still – an off-road race?
And then the Trial. This time I went with the 2003 BMW M5, which has become a favourite of mine of late. I started 4th round Emerald and took 1st place before we even reached the hotel. There was some mischief a head of the first turn that let me sneak past the rest, and, I believe, the other players were too busy trying to run each other off the road after that. I was at the back for Descansar Dorado and finished 3rd. The player in 2nd somehow tumbled over the finish line, but I watched the two players ahead of me driving like a pair of right arses.
I’ll add the Eventlabs to the entry when – perhaps – the tiles work.
Horizon Tour
Not so much Horizon Tour this week partly because I’ve got a little bored with it. The races and the cars all tend to be a bit same-y. PGG ought to have included the new sprint races, although I suppose it might also have included those ridiculous stadium races in the roster. The closest I came to a good deed was trying not to overtake some low-prestige player round El Pípila. Not an easy task, but it’s quite good practice for my driving skills.
