FH5, Series 46, Week 2

No treasure hunt this week, which meant straight on with the weekly in the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. The biggest bother this week was having to amass 500,000 skill points. The only fortunately here was the random arrival of a skill song on the radio.

This was a week of very painful PR stunts. The ST (speed trap) was the same as the one we did last week or the week before. In spite of my Mitsubishi Evos apparently having the speed, they were way short of the target. The answer was the Eclipse, which you could equip with off-road race tyres. However, that all took about 20 minutes and thoroughly annoyed me because I wish we’d be told which car could actually achieve the target. The reward this time was a car. I one-shotted the SZ (speed zone) in the Porsche Macan for a one-third good SWS. I knew the TB (trailblazer) was going to be a massive pain i’ th’ arse and it was. Almost every run I did was a second short. I’d forgotten that the car to use was the VB Beetle and must’ve spent the better part of a discontinuous hour to complete the stunt for an SWS which ended up being two-thirds good.

I broke up the irritation of the preceding task with the Eventlab, Esto es el fin, which was a road race in the Escort Cosworth. Good props, and the layout was fine, but the jump ahead of the final corner loses this one points for being stupid and pointless.

I one-shotted the HW SZ in the Renault 5 Turbo for a one-third very good SWS, but…

…it was the wrong build of the car for the RA ST. However, I have a B-class Renault 5 Turbo for dirt racing, which rewarded me with a two-thirds good SWS.

The Trial was another bout of B700 modern rally. Still don’t know what’s good for this. Perhaps nothing. I worry a little that in spite of the car I pick for the job, there’s a better car, but they all have about 50PI to play with. Again, I opted for the Lancer Evo VIII. I was on the front row for Fuera del Camino, and apart from a brief period of time when another player overtook me, I ended up in a comfortable lead. I was on the second row for Tapalpa, blasted into the lead fairly quickly, and won the race with solid support from the rest of humanity. Another team win and yet another Hoonigan RS200. Fourth one? More than fourth?

I really do need to go through my garage and weed out a bunch of cars, although with all the new PS5 players being in the game, I could give ’em away knowing that probably they really would go to new players who might (but probably not) express their appreciation.

I have one last Realms accolade to unlock, but may never manage to do so unless we get a patch at some point in the future (or just as likely, it randomly happens; I’ve tried various strategies without success). I’ve now played Radio Eterna in Mulegé several times without the accolade acknowledging my services to music.
