FH5, Series 46, Week 3
The treasure hunt was to do the TB that ends in Las Ranas (sp? where the start of the Eliminator is). It took several goes because I haven’t attempted this TB in ages. I know there’s a path through the trees that makes the sharp left-hander less painful, but I’ve forgotten where it is. I eventually managed to three-star it, but not in a way that might attract the adjective “competent”.
The weekly was in the Vūhl. I had to switch to my S2-class Vūhl for the DS.
I one-shotted the DS of a one-third excellent SWS. The SZ was once again a massive pain, although it took me fewer tries to complete it than it did previously and the SWS was one-third very good.
Eventlab (1). The Sierra Annual River Run was a solo jaunt in unlimited off-roaders. It wasn’t a bad idea, but the wriggly first sector was irritating as was the declaration “The crowd grows wild” when it ought to be “The crowd goes wild”. And that got me my fourth FE MB CLK GTR.
Eventlab (2). Holiday Dash was a decent, intermediate-length course that was free of the ridiculous technical sections which ruin some creations.
I one-shotted the HW DZ in the Toyota GR Yaris for a rubbish SWS.
The RA PR stunt was that annoying forest jump, which I eventually got after rewinding because even looking at a tree caused the jump to fail. Another rubbish SWS.
I wasn’t really sure which car to use in the Trial and am still uncertain. I started with the Lamborghini Diablo SV because, I thought, it’d be a sound choice. My S1 900 Diablo is AWD, which meant that the car was understeery. I pushed it a bit to hard at times to come 3rd in Llanuras. Volcán was a disaster. I got knocked out of a checkpoint, although it was possibly an unintended consequence of the carnage. I then got shoved into a wall. I’d just about done the race when I quit, leaving the survivors to the Goliath. I tried again, but in my yellow Ferrari F50 (S1 871). I managed a 7th in Llanuras and a 9th in Volcán, with team wins on both occasions. Job done, but I wasn’t really in the mood for it. The retro supercars in my garage are all modestly built since they don’t seem well suited to be pumped up to the top of S1 class.
Ditto Horizon Tour. I ended up doing the A800 anything goes (AG) race series. I picked my Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale. In Reservorio I started in 4th and finished in 4th. One player was in a Cerbera, which was well beyond his level of competence to drive. He’d go flying past me only to lose it on the turns. I started on the front row of Bola Ocho and came 2nd in spite of carnage at Bollard Corner. I was on the front row for Lookout and managed a 3rd in spite of being shoved out of a checkpoint. I’ve been doing quite a few Horizon Tours recently, but wasn’t in this mood for this, either.
I got my third Ferrari F8 Tributo, although I only have two of them because the original one got lost when the game save failed a couple of years ago.
Time we had some sort of news about Horizon 6.
