FH6, Series 3, Week 1
The treasure was obviously at the spaceport, where I roamed round and round, unable to pin down exact location because some Jeremy (Hunt – rhyming slang) was (deliberately) parked on top of the chest. This seems to be a new thing in the game to annoy players. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted like this.
I had to do the Trial to get the Ferrari Dino because I didn’t want to buy it and end up with two, driving neither very much. My first attempt at the Trial did not go well. I tried an old favourite, the Renault Turbo 5, which just wasn’t up to the job, and quit before the end of the first race after the drivatars muscled back past me. I switched to the Celica for the second attempt. I was fifth on the human grid on Airfield and managed to claw my way to 5th to contribute to a team win. I was in second place at the start of Hokubu and finished in 2nd, somehow keeping up with the player who had comfortably won the first round.
I’ll note that the car category was misleading. It said Total Rally, but it appears that it ought to have said Retro Rally. I wasted my time speccing up that VW Rallye car only to find that it wasn’t eligible (although there have been other issues with the car not being eligible for race when, you’d think, it ought to be).
And then it was time to do the weekly. As is often the case, the game didn’t bother notifying me that I’d got my six stars from doing STs. I did Daikoku as one of the two races, but added aero after that because the car felt too light and apt to slide round corners. I should’ve used the photo to deal with the playlist photo task, but forgot and did the latter afterwards. More clothes. Well, that’ll send the girls into a frenzy.
I used the 911 Turbo 3.3 for Night Time Views. What’s wrong with this game? I check the car masteries and find that so many cars have the perk for Street Scene races. #ForcedEngagement? As I’ve said before, I find no pleasure in doing sprint races in the dark.
It was back to the 458 Speciale for Italian Spritz. Without the drivatars being on a set level, there’s no challenge unless I make it a challenge; and on that matter, I don’t really care to.
A couple of laps of Soni in the Dino easily got me a sub-53 sec. lap. Even my first lap from a standing start was just a little too slow.
The DS took several attempts, with traffic being a major nuisance, partly because of players hitting cars and partly because of the terrible timing of the traffic. Rubbish WS.
I one-shotted the SZ in the Dino and got the McLaren 12C. Hurrah! A new car from a WS.
I didn’t know what to do about the DZ, hence I built the Alfa Romeo 155 as a drift car. It worked. Another rubbish WS.
As for the drift racing, I ended up in the 155 for that, too, and acquitted myself rather well overall with a 2nd, 3rd and 4th place across the three races.
Rivals was in the Temerario round Electric City Circuit. Fast and mostly controllable, but I had to watch the AWD understeer. More importantly, I got a 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Stradale from a WS for going up a level.
Italian Exotics Car Pack
I’ve only done any extensive driving in the Alfa Romeo GTAm, but did manage to PB an SZ in the stock F80. I’m recovering from the move and have had other matters to deal with. I also find that Horizon games demand a deal of concentration, which I’m currently lacking.
