FH5, Series 35, Week 1
The treasure hunt was a matter of doing danger signs in my Bentley until I randomly hit whatever the target was. 100 FPs reward. I can spend them on, er… Somefink nice for the missus.
The weekly in the 2017 Alpine A110 passed without anything of note occurring.
I got through a wreckage HA by myself. I feared I might acquire 37 dependents who’d expect me to do all the work for them.
I one-shotted all the PR stunts, even the speed trap. The trick there seems to be to use all the road from the top, but not to start booting it until you get to the right-hand curve that head down the hill. One SWS was one-third good, and the other two were rubbish.
The photo unlocked the Dark Horse, which I’ve had a brief play with it, but have had enough of FH5 for the moment.
Rivals round San Juan was advertising for the Universal Icons Car Pack. It was quite possibly the slowest Rivals event I’ve ever done. Línea Costera was a pain. Fat EV SUV, hopeless handling, several visits to Barry R. Not a fun experience.
Eventlab (1). Sunhaven Nightfall is a well constructed map, but I could’ve done without the 2x gravity. On my first attempt, I took the jump too fast and the game went a bit mental, but had the decency not to crash. The drivatars seemed not to enjoy the experience.
Eventlab (2). Hóng Akai looks really good, but the layout was terrible and included some where-the-hell-do-I-go-now moments. Also turned out to be a road/street race, not dirt, and I regretted driving the Nissan Safari to glorious victory.
I went with the 1979 Camaro Z28 for Rally and Camaro-raderie. I felt that the more modern cars would end up having too little scope for suitable upgrades. The car soundly spanked the drivatars.
For Round the Clock I picked the 2016 Cayman GT4, starting with my RWD car, but switching to my AWD one for the races in Guanajuato in case they turned out to be wet. While I know Plaza Circuit well, I also know that wet streets and RWD cars don’t mix. I needn’t have worried.
Kitty Cat, Toy Track. Guess what car I chose. Except this time I checked the weather conditions and went RWD. Actually, the 2016 Cayman GT4’s launch isn’t great at the top of S1 class. Too much wiggly back end and a need to shuffle between 2nd and 3rd gear to get it off the line.
I raced in the Ford Focus for the Trial. I started last in Jungle Descent and came 2nd. Team loss. Ruta Norte put me on the back row, but I came 3rd. The player who came 2nd was clearly desperate to pass me, hence I moved out of his way. Team win. In Callejera I was on the front line of humanity. Came 4th. I think Forza counting then kicked in because we won when it seemed we ought to have lost. The lead human driver was all over the place. Good in a straight line, but not good through the corners. I felt that I might’ve been able to catch the drivatar ahead if I’d been able to get ahead myself.
I one-shotted the HW PR stunt in my Ferrari F40 Competizione. The SWS was one-third all right.
I started Holden onto your Hats in the 1992 Celica and then switched to the Lancer Evo VIII when it became apparent that the drivatars were up to their usual mischief. The wee scamps. The races had to include that horrid Canyon Sprint, which appears to be the only race in which you don’t start in last place in HW seasonals. I assume that the drivatar cheating through the water is known to be a thing. Also, why was the reward an Australian car, but everyone was competing in Japanese cars?
I also one-shotted the RA PR stunt in a another display of highly incompetent drifting that managed to surpass the requisite score by a decent margin. I was in the Hoonigan RS200, which seemed to go slide, stick, oversteer, slide, stick, oversteer. The SWS was one-third very good.
Another Bone Shaker. Another offering of a known cheater ~ exploiter car. I’ll be writing to the Times and have no doubt questions will be asked in the House; although by that time we may have a new PM. I did Shiver up my Spine in my RWD Mustang RTR Spec 5. I think in the irritating Sierra Nueva I ought to stick to AWD.
