FH5, Series 49, Week 4

I’d normally start the Festival playlist with the treasure hunt in case it’s still bugged, but I started with the weekly in the Senna instead. No issues apart from running into a live HA which I ignored to complete the rest of the tasks. For FH6, they need to add a pop-up which says “Join HA Y/N”, which allows players to opt out because the siting of such events is often a blasted nuisance (e.g. over a player house; right across the motorway; etc.)

I also used the Senna to find the Festival site south of the stadium and deal with the daily, being the usual photo-at-the-Festival-site routine. I switched to my Range Rover SVR to deal with the collectibles that are supposed to be south of the stadium.

The treasure hunt was merely a matter of doing an SZ in the Willys Jeep. I don’t know whether I was supposed to get at least one star, but the job was done and I got my treasure, which was close to the end of the airfield runway.

For the first time in a while we had an Eventlab, Skyline Circuit. Decent layout with an old-school motorsport feel. Pity about the awful road surface.

I one-shotted the reservoir DZ in the Cerbera 12-speed and got about twice as many points as I needed. The Land Rover TB was a pain in the arse partly because there was a bloody great dust storm and partly because my Ranger Rover SVR tended to bounce awkwardly. Multiple attempts before I managed to traverse the map. The Jaguar TB was the same sort of pain, but I managed to one-shot it (luck, not judgement). And how was I rewarded for my sterling efforts? Three rubbish SWS’s.

I one-shotted the HW PR stunt and got a one-third good and one-third very good SWS. It also gave me a BMW M3 GTR, but I have at least two already.

I also managed to one-shot the nuisance DZ in Sierra Nueva and got an all-car SWS. All unwanted. All sold.

The Trial was another trial. I quit the first two attempts because it was clear we weren’t going to win and because there were obvious players who seemed to think we were going to win it for them. Also, getting slammed into a wall doesn’t help. When I did a complete Trial, I was on the back row for Tapalpa and came 3rd with a team win. I felt that the player in front of me actually could’ve passed the drivatar in 1st. La Selva was a travesty in that the drivatars ran away with it. I started at the back and came 3rd, but couldn’t catch the bloody little robots. I was on the second row for Cascada and came 3rd again (1st player). I almost caught the drivatars in the lead, but there just wasn’t enough race. I managed to get through the mob because of that sharp right-hander, where I managed to manoeuvre my way out of the rest of the field and leave most of the drivatars and everyone else behind. Team win. Job done once again.

I now have four McLaren Sennas.

I haven’t quite got the Backstage Pass, but there are too many things I can’t be bothered doing for rewards I don’t want. The only choice for the pass vote should be the 911 GT3 RS because the MB AMG GT Black Series has had at least two outings.

I see that Summer Party won the vote. I have no particular views other than having no interest in cars from the 1990s. I’ve seen one explicitly implicit whinge about this on the forums. Full marks for opinion; zero marks for explanations.
