FH5, Series 20, Week 2

More or less painful.

I started with the Horizon Promo or whatever it’s called these days, and did the daily at the same time.

The weekly challenge probably took about ten minutes unlike the FH4 weekly which had to be grindy just to be a pain.

I PB’ed the speed trap, but the SWS was rubbish. The Trailblazer is the easiest one in the game, and the SWS was not quite rubbish. The speed zone was a pain. I tried the MB CLK-GTR because of the grip and turning, but it lacked the speed. I ought to have opted for the Rimac, but the Jesko managed to complete the task – eventually – and PB it. Another sort of all right SWS.

I hated every loathsome minute of Street’d Lightning. If I wanted to race in the dark, I’d stick a paper bag over my head or switch my monitor off. At the end of it, I got a wheel spin – a rubbish wheel spin.

Buggy Bug World featured cheating drivatar bastards. I opted for my B700 Alumi Craft Class 10 which is a decent off-roader, but the races got to Guanajuato and a bunch of Chollas took off while I sat there behind them and could make no progress. Even when I did win the race, I just managed it. This is the sort of thing which puts me off FH5. The reward was a KTM X-Bow. Makes so much sense as a reward for some off-road racing.

It was back to my B700 Lancer Evo VIII for Rally Good Time. I haven’t done San Juan in some time. It looked to be a repeat screening of the previous seasonal, with it taking too long for me to overtake the lead drivatar. The reward was a Panamera. Shrug.

Eventlab (1). Cairo. This was a top quality piece of creativity, but for a horn?! Eventlab (2). I don’t like oval circuits, but I think this one did it better than the one in the stadium. Oh, and once again, the Eventlab tiles were blank when the new season started.

I managed to PB the HW jump and was rewarded decently well.

Can Ya Canyon? S1 900, modern supercars. That sounded all right until it was revealed it was off-road races. Again, which clown thought this was clever? I survived the first event in my road-tuned McLaren 570S before speccing up my 2012 Nissan GTR for off-roading. This was good in the second race across the snow, but I ought to have rally-specced it for the ice hazard race.

I smashed my PB for the danger sign in Sierra Nueva, although it took a couple of attempts in the Jesko.

Dancing in the Dirt was C600 (scream! Or perhaps not) retro rally. At random I picked the Mazda 323 even though it had bugger all scope for upgrades, as it turned out, the car was a good choice, although can we have some proper rewards, please? Clothing?! Gods!

The new Porsche 935 seems decent stock. Mind you, the STO seemed decent stock, but struggled once I started upgrading it. I must take the former round the HW Goliath to see how it fares.

Someone sent me the Ferrari 599 FXX as a gift. ’Bout time I had something nice because most of the gift cars are shite. Oh, all right, it’s my third one. I’d send it on as a gift if I thought it might go to some deserving newcomer who’d missed out. I tried it again in FH4 just recently and thought that it was better than I remember it. It’s more drivable than the 599 FXX Evo because that judders like mad in cockpit view.
